Hi! My name is Kate, and I'm an AI Outcomes Manager at Glean. My work revolves around our customers–showing them what Glean can do, and how they can use it to make a real difference not only in their daily lives but also for the success of their business. Helping our users realise their potential through AI and making their lives easier is a core part of my job.
I get to speak to my customers daily, and I also love engaging with the broader community by participating in our community webinars. It’s an exciting opportunity to speak to them, see what they create using Glean, and learn from them.
Being at the forefront of transformation
Working as an AI Outcomes Manager means being part of something entirely new. It's such a new industry and motion and it has been amazing to have an opportunity to be a part of building it out with my team.
One of the most memorable moments was our first-ever EMEA in-person customer event. It was a small-scale, half-day session where customers got together in London, shared their challenges and successes, and most importantly, got an opportunity to connect. I love when events like this allow me to bring people together. It's an incredibly rewarding part of my job.
But it can be easy to get accustomed to this transformative AI movement as it becomes your norm. Recently, I was chatting with a friend who doesn't work in AI or tech. When I was talking to him about Glean and my role, he asked me, "How does it feel to be at the forefront of technology?" This question really took me aback! But moments like this make you realise that you are a part of something special, that will transform technology and how we work forever. It's really exciting!
Community learning, and the Gleaniverse
Our customers often learn more from each other than they do from me. It feels weird to say this, given that enablement and working on customer use cases are my jobs, but I've seen so many creative applications of Glean developed by our customers. The scope and breadth of what they achieve using Glean is the real goldmine. My platform knowledge and experience building customer workflows are often just nice additions.
I have seen customers work on use cases I haven't even thought of, and some of those I proudly borrow to use in my training and demos. But I think the most important learning was how eager our customers are to get involved, experiment, build, and make a difference with Glean. It definitely gets me excited to keep doing the same.
That’s why I'm so excited about the launch of the Gleaniverse. It creates a space where natural customer-to-customer learning can flourish. I’ll also be in there, continuing to get involved with webinars, chatting to our customers in the community discussions, and sharing any interesting knowledge pieces to help in any way I can. I'll also be listening to feedback and learning from their great work.
I can't wait to see how customers apply Glean to different functions, industries, and problems. Most importantly, I want to see how they use Glean to achieve their goals, whether it's to get promoted, hit those KPIs, or save themselves some mental space to focus on the things they enjoy doing the most.
Building toward the future
If I could dream big, Gleaniverse would buzz with discussions, helpful content, and even more events within a year. In fact, I want to see our customers involved in more webinars, sharing their business challenges, amazing ideas, and successes. The Gleaniverse floor is really for them to have, so I hope they take that opportunity.
What inspires me beyond work is seeing how quick and open people are to helping someone they've never met in communities I'm part of—whether that's my book club, local women's communities, or surfing groups. The same energy exists in our customer community, and it's incredibly heartwarming to see how enriching it is to hear different perspectives on the same challenges.
My final message to our community as they dive into this new chapter with Glean? Just use it! Be the one to start a discussion, join the webinars, and get involved as much as you can. We have so many excellent contributors participating in the community webinars who will help you get more ideas and learn more about the platform. Leaning on this network for ideas, experiences, and just embracing the community is so much more valuable than any training session.
