The AI industry has spent the last several years emphasizing how AI is going to transform workforces. There was a held belief that as models became more capable and powerful, productivity and ROI would naturally follow. Yet, more usage and adoption of advanced models have not resulted in organizational-wide impact. [Add metrics]

Most enterprise AI tools are still reactive and focus on individual productivity. While AI can make an individual task faster, the human remains the workflow engine, responsible for noticing what needs attention, gathering the context, initiating each step, and routing the output to the next person. It falls on humans and their judgment to drive the majority of work forward. Simultaneously, AI strategies are being designed around reactive, individual use cases shaped by the tools they already have, versus developing them for how teams work together. If you don’t address how people work together, bottlenecks and coordination costs will remain, minimizing AI’s potential impact.

We believe that the next era of productivity will compound largely in two ways. First, AI will become proactive, recognizing important signals, anticipating what comes next, and taking action without waiting for another prompt. Second, it will become multiplayer, coordinating work across the people, teams, and systems required to reach an outcome. That matters because the most valuable work in an enterprise is rarely completed by one person in one session. It moves through complex workflows that cross teams, applications, and decisions. That’s why bringing together proactive execution and multiplayer coordination is key to moving AI beyond helping individuals finish isolated tasks. They allow AI to keep broader organizational initiatives moving, even as ownership shifts and new information emerges.

To do this well, AI needs more than a better model or a longer prompt. It needs context: who you are, who you work with, which projects matter now, what has already happened, what needs to happen next, and who else needs to be involved. Glean Enterprise Context provides that foundation by connecting the knowledge, relationships, activity, and business signals that make work meaningful. And it’s what enables us to build a truly proactive engine that drives both single and multiplayer coordination.

Today, we are announcing a suite of proactive AI capabilities built on Glean Enterprise Context. By continuously interpreting the signals around your work, these capabilities surface prioritized work, execute work for you, and improve existing processes proactively. They are personalized to each employee, relevant to the business, and designed to help people and teams move forward together.

Proactive AI surfaces prioritized work

Work often slows down because the signal that should prompt the next step is buried across conversations, documents, inboxes, and systems. Or it is reliant on human memory or coordination across teams to drive it forward. Glean brings those signals together so individuals and teams can identify what matters most and act sooner.

Knowledge workers juggle multiple projects, deadlines, task lists, and stakeholder conversations. Glean’s task management capabilities use the personal graph to connect conversations, decisions, and commitments, helping identify what deserves immediate attention. It can then prepare the next step, from drafting a follow-up message to creating a presentation, before you ask. Email triage brings the same focus to crowded inboxes, surfacing important tasks and buried information so employees can execute faster.

In addition to helping individual employees stay ahead on critical tasks and deadlines, Glean helps expose imminent information that drives strategic business decisions. Glean’s interactive dashboards leverage Glean’s agent harness to analyze structured and unstructured data. Imagine having a near real-time 360 view of your business through combining support tickets, sales conversations, internal documentation, and product telemetry data in your data warehouse. Interactive dashboards can surface key insights you may have missed from your BI dashboard. These dashboards can highlight important signals that may be easy to miss in a traditional BI workflow. For example, a deal may be blocked by a support issue. Glean can surface that issue so the right team can resolve it quickly. Dashboards refresh on a schedule or when someone views them, helping teams and leaders spot meaningful changes and make decisions faster.

Proactive AI executes work that matters

Once Glean identifies what matters, it can help move that work forward. Today, we are launching personal agents, personalized automations for individual employees. A personal agent turns a workflow you already completed in Glean into a repeatable process tailored to your preferences. It can run on a schedule or respond to a triggered event. For example, you can set up a personal agent to prepare an account review brief every Monday with the latest customer activity and open risks.

Glean takes this model further with independent agents that guide and coordinate work across the enterprise. Each independent agent has its own identity, including a profile, scoped service credentials, permissions, and audit trail. That combination of autonomy, governance, and security allows independent agents to act across important processes such as on-call management, support escalations, and product operations without losing control.

Independent agents are AI coworkers that can execute work without waiting for a human prompt or an active chat session. For example, with a support escalation agent, it can automatically detect an issue, find the Jira ticket, run root cause analysis, and provide a solution, pulling in engineering and support teams as needed to resolve the issue. Independent agents extend proactive AI from individual automation to coordinated execution across teams.

Surfacing work is only the beginning. Glean also brings people together to collaborate around the same context with team chat. Teammates can collaborate in a shared session by discussing the work, creating artifacts, and modifying them together. Sharing is governed throughout, with the ability to review or revoke access at any time, while Glean responds according to each participant’s permissions.

Proactive AI improves existing workflows

The next wave of AI should do more than surface priorities and complete tasks. It should help people and teams improve the way they work.

Meetings are one of the most repeated activities in any organization, yet most people receive little feedback on how effectively they run them. Glean’s meeting coach learns what effective meetings look like across 1:1s, sales calls, and team meetings and provides guidance during and after the conversation so you can consistently raise the bar.

Glean Transform extends this idea to the enterprise. It proactively identifies opportunities to automate work across teams and departments and helps define those workflows for agent development. By mapping work in real time with Glean Enterprise Context, organizations can see where time is being spent, identify the processes most ready for automation, and determine where skills and agents can take on critical work.

Glean moves from automating anticipation, action, and improvement for single and multiplayer work.

Enterprise context is the foundation

Every proactive AI experience in Glean depends on the same foundation: a deep, structured understanding of the business and the people who make it work. Glean Enterprise Context brings together the Knowledge Graph, Personal Graph, and persistent memory of interactions to provide that foundation.

Because Glean understands what matters, who needs to be involved, and what should happen next, it makes proactive AI possible for both individuals and teams. Glean can help every knowledge worker stay ahead of their priorities, while also helping teams coordinate work across the enterprise securely.

We are now evolving into a new era of AI where prompt engineering is no longer a bottleneck to great results. Knowledge workers and businesses can now rely on AI that understands the work, takes the next step, and helps everyone move together.
